alterplace is a creative design, scenography and architectural collective based in Naarm, Melbourne. We design, build and coordinate immersive installations, sculptures and spatial environments.

The studio is defined by an approach that treats concept, structure and craft as inseparable. By holding an idea’s intent from the first sketch through to delivery on site, we close the gap between design and construction, with a focus on work that is considered in its thinking and resolved in its build.

The practice’s foundations are in architecture, engineering and fabrication, grounded in a belief that built space shapes and holds experience.
